But where to start? |

And let others do the same.
Everyone's always getting lost in trying to be right. It's awful.
It's not complicated.
Tell your representatives what you want of them.
The system works, but we're not using it.
Don't let the wackos (right or left) with the big mouths keep the stage. Speak up- that's the most important thing.
And listen when others have something to say.
That's why this country is wonderful. |

Like Horsefire above pointed out vote with your wallet, they took away our ballots' meaning, thanks to Diebold.
Don't buy corporate - ANYTHING. Just don't. It's not always avoidable. Most of the time, it is, and if it's a matter of saving a few cents or five minutes it's not worth it! Always buy local, buy your food at farmer's markets and fruitstands.
Take your television and throw it out the window. Or put it in the closet.
It's poisonous. It will make you feel like a loser - that's what it is for.
Get off the grid in every way possible. Quit your bank. Scissor up your credit cards. If you don't, you will be an indentured servant to your bank for the rest of your life - think I'm exaggerating?
Don't breed if you have not already done so.
If you can, expatriate yourself. Most of us won't be able to but I see very ugly bad things ahead - draft, camps, the whole thing. Things are alrweady batshit. If frist gets his way we're finished. If Jeb is next in line we might as well throw in the towel. If we have to stay here, delude yourself into forgetting the above realities, however, because the alternative is suicide. Even if it doesn't seem possible to fight them the first step is believing it is. Sometimes it requires self-delusion, and it works. |

It seems the average American is unwilling to see the evil committed by our government. We must constantly point it out to them until they get it through their heads. They easily forget Bush's certainty that we would find weapons of mass destruction, we cannot let them forget, or ignore it. They are impressed with Bush's faith and ignore his destruction of seperation of church and state.
We need candidates for all offices of government who are willing to apply logic and critical thought instead of blind ideology. We need candidates who are truly motivated by a desire to serve rather than glory.
I often ask myself if I would be willing to put my life plans aside to run for office, since I am confident I could do a better job than those in power. It is a difficult choice for me because I also believe I could have a meaningful career in physics research. I don't know what I am going to do yet, but if you find yourself unhappy with with your choices of candidates to vote for, consider if you should run for office yourself. |
